The Crown Agent and Chief Executive, Mr Norman McFadyen

Norman McFadyen

The Crown Agent is the principal legal advisor to the Lord Advocate on Prosecution matters.

He also acts as Chief Executive for the Service. He is assisted by other senior legal, managerial and administrative staff.

Peter Collings, Deputy Chief Executive

The Deputy Chief Executive is responsible for the Corporate Services Group. DCE

This includes Business Policy Development Division, Victims and Diversity Policy Development Division, Human Resources, Finance, Estates and Information Systems Division.


Mr John Dunn, Deputy Crown Agent

John Dunn

The Deputy Crown Agent is responsible for operational matters relating to the Fiscal's office and staff who prepare cases for the High Court and Court of Appeal, and the Financial Crime Unit.

Ms Janice Irvine, Director of Human Resources

Janice Irvine

The Director of Human Resources has responsibility for Personnel, Payroll, Training and Staff Development, Employee Relations, Employee Welfare, Health and Safety, and Security.


Mr John Logue, Head of Policy Division

John Logue

Policy Division lead in formulating COPFS prosecution and death investigation policies and liaison with the Scottish and UK Governments on wider policy issues where there is a prosecution or death investigation interest in Scotland.

Ms Alison McInnes, Head of Communications

Alison McInnes

The Head of Communications is responsible for communication issues internally within the Service and also externally with our stakeholders.

Both Non Executive Directors sit on the COPFS Management Board and fulfil a variety of roles as required.
