The Solicitor General, Elish Angiolini QC, met staff at the Paisley Procurator Fiscal Office today to discuss the progress in the modernisation of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and to hear staff views on the impact of the programme of reform. The offices are part of the COPFS Argyll & Clyde Area.

Elish Angiolini said:

"When we embarked on our major programme of reform we made a commitment to provide the best possible service to local communities. The Solicitor General also commended staff at the Paisley office for their hard work and professionalism, saying:

"I am encouraged and confident that given the enthusiasm and dedication of our staff, we can continue to demonstrate a real improvement in the quality of service within the community."

The Solicitor General was also given a tour of the Procurator Fiscal Office in Paisley with District Procurator Fiscal Gordon Williams.

Mr Williams said:

"I am pleased to welcome the Solicitor General to the Area and to have the opportunity to demonstrate the improvements that new working practices have had in helping us to continue improving the service that the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service delivers to the local community."
