This document has been issued to all Procurators Fiscal in the country to ensure that all of Scotland' s prosecutors are committed to delivering a high standard of service to all victims of domestic abuse. The protocol provides victims of domestic abuse with important information about the justice process in which they play a key role.
The protocol serves, not only as a guide for police and prosecution staff on how to respond to domestic abuse but as a guarantee of a level of service which victims can expect from the police and procurator fiscal service.
