CROWN OFFICE AND PROCURATOR FISCAL SERVICE REVIEW 2004-2005
I have pleasure in presenting the
COPFS Review for 2004-2005 which reports on the department's performance and progress from April 2004 to March 2005. Our
annual accounts are also available to view on our
website.
As you will see we have made good progress during the year in contributing to the management of change in the High Court system. This has already seen a marked improvement in efficiency and has allowed us significantly to improve the service we provide to victims and witnesses. The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service has continued to improve performance against key targets and we are committed to further improvement.
Clearly there is more still to do, but the Crown Agent and I are confident that we have the people, systems and resources to allow us to continue building an efficient responsive prosecution service for the people of Scotland.
I hope you find the COPFS Review 2004-2005 of interest. Our Communications team would welcome your views on both the content and presentation of this document. If you have any comments please e-mail:

Yours sincerely,
