"I am pleased to announce the appointment of David Spiers as the new District Procurator Fiscal for Dumbarton and Campbeltown. David is an experienced and well respected prosecutor who brings over 30 years of experience to the role. I know he will build on the effective relationships we already have in place with our criminal justice partners in Argyll and Clyde areas. With the drive, determination and enthusiasm he brings to his work he is the ideal person to assist us in delivering justice and bring benefits to the local communities."
Mr Spiers, speaking of his new role said:
"I previously worked in the Sheriffdom of North Strathclyde, where some of my most rewarding work was done. I am really looking forward to leading the Procurator Fiscal's Office in Dumbarton, and the challenges that it will bring. I know that my predecessor established excellent relationships with the community and worked closely with local criminal justice partners to tackle crime.
