What's "Healthy Working Lives" all about?
On February 12th 2007, the new Healthy Working Lives (HWL) Award Programme was launched. Building on the success of Scotland's Health at Work (SHAW) the programme encompasses a wide range of topics enabling organisations to select those that are most relevant to the workforce, including health promotion, occupational health and safety, health and the environment, mental health and well-being, community involvement and employability.
Organisations currently holding a SHAW award can transfer to the equivalent HWL Award, from the 1st April 2007, by undertaking additional components of the new programme.

Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service
- Participation in the HWL initiative is a corporate aim of the department.
- A corporate committee has been established to take forward the transition from SHAW to HWL.
- Additionally, each area in the COPFS has it's own HWL committee.
