Equality Advisory Group
MEMBERS' DECLARATION and UNDERTAKING
I have been invited to become an external member of the Equality Advisory Group to the COPFS and to provide services to COPFS in that role. I understand that, in order to fulfil my role as external member, I may have access to information about government departments or agencies and/or members of the public. I understand that such information in the possession of COPFS, or obtained from COPFS, must be treated as strictly confidential.
I understand that I should declare to the Chair of the Group any interests that might conflict with the purpose of the group.
I understand that the discussions of the Group and the contents of the minutes (as agreed by the members) will be made public on the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Internet and Intranet sites and that all proposed COPFS Press Releases concerning the work and discussion of the Group will be cleared with the Group members before they are issued.
I hereby give a formal undertaking to COPFS, that:
1. I will not communicate any sensitive or confidential information or knowledge that I gain in the course of my work with COPFS to any other persons.
2. I will not make use of any such information or knowledge for any purpose other than providing those services to COPFS.
I acknowledge that this undertaking applies to all information that is not already a matter of public knowledge and that it applies to written, oral and electronic information.
I also acknowledge that this undertaking will continue to apply at all times in the future, even when I have ceased to provide these services to COPFS.
I declare that I have no previous criminal convictions for crimes of dishonesty, violence and misuse of drugs or sexual offences. I further declare that I have no criminal cases pending against me. I undertake to inform COPFS if I am charged with any criminal offences during the time that I am providing services to COPFS.
